Hi Mitch,
Like you, I'm getting nowhere. But I'm in touch with a Bunnings feller who MIGHT just be able to help. I have one too, and want / need to know much more.
It's a strong-looking plant, and I have every hope it'll do well.
Pete

Oh, It WILL do well, Its a Fig.
Be careful where you put it.
I'm on an acre and I still cant put one in the ground when I consider the neighbours or my own house.
Good luck with it, They are yum.

Thanks for the replys. Yep they are very strong looking plants. They are Carica, but i just can't find info on the cultivar name. Is it a well established cultivar like Black Genoa/ Prestons Prolific??? or is it a very new cultivar that there is no info on, or a gimmicky name that mite not equate to anything?? I hope its a new Cultivar!!!! I'm trying to get as many Figs as i can...

I bought a yumyum fig from North Wandin nursery in the yarra valley. The guy (John) told me it's from a local family business that have been growing figs there for 130 years and they do not remember it's stock or origin and made the name up. Apparently it does well in the cooler climate there. Friendly guy, give him a call. I've just started mine so I cannot comment on it's taste but I'm keen to grow it.
