Elaine de Saxe says... So far, mine has not had any citrus pests at all. Same cannot be said for the exotic citrus which are floundering no matter what I do to them. The finger lime has grown and grown; it's on clay loam, very short on water and exposed to the western sun although it was grown among native grasses early in its life. At 5 it's nearly 2m high and 1m round and **extremely** prickly. Suggest it's a tough plant and probably not much affected by citrus pests. EatAust says... They don't, however, like frosts when young - I can vouch for that. Mine in Sydney thrived on the hot humid summers and snuffed it, despite all attempts, on a move further south. It did get badly attacked by the citrus stink bugs in Sydney - I was surrounded by houses with huge old lemon and orange trees which had regular infestations, and they descended on the finger lime in similar numbers. I tended to just squish them off with a stick ... (phewwwww). | About the Author EatAust Tarago, NSW 25th September 2007 12:32pm #UserID: 330 Posts: 9 View All EatAust's Edible Fruit Trees |

HappyEarth says... How old is your finger lime? Dont worry ... as they get older they will hang onto more and more fruit. Most fruit trees will show this behaviour. Rich www.happyearth.com.au | About the Author Wollongong 6th October 2008 8:14pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
