Fruit Tree Advice starts with ...
Hi. . Hoping someone can help. We wish to plant a couple fuit trees in a location very near the house. So height is a factor - max 2 metres. Also non-invasive roots. They need to be evergreen. Standard type trees would be fine. Any suggestions please on options?
Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter,
You would probably have to expand on your location. Near the house doesn't give a lot of clues as to your climatic conditions.
Sorry mate, I'm in a cheeky mood this morning but tell us where you are approximately, and your climate...
I edited the rest, just a bit too cheeky...

John. We are on the Sunshine Coast. The wall is north facing and receives full sun until early afternoon. Does that help ?
Cheers

Peter, I'm not from queensland so I'm not sure what grows well there ... but why not investigate something like kei apple (apparently very tough), citrus, avocado (counditions may be a bit harsh), pomegranate (would probably be evergreen in QLD), jaboticaba, or grumichama (although they may need more shade)?
Most of these you can prune to shape. I'm not sure on the roots (but if you're worried dig a trench next to the house and put in a barrier to a meter or so deep and that should discourage house damage ... water pipes is a different thing)
Have a look at the 'my edibles' pages and check out what people are growing in your area and find out what thrives and what doesn't.)
