jakfruit etiquette says... The best method is probably peacock grafting, ie leave one or two limbs active with the navel orange (like a peacock tail), and cut off and re graft the other limbs to the new type, (the tangelo)ie like the peacocks neck. When the first grafts have taken off and are growing well, you can then re work the other limbs, or leave it half orange half tangelo. It was discussed here. https://www.daleysfruit.com.au/forum/grafting-an-old-citrus-tree/ Another method is discussed here. See the post by Mr Texas. http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=3092b8c30ae86443f93b5101175306f6&topic=39283.0 Its similar to peacock grafting but you regraft high on the tree, and leave all the lower part of the tree as a skirt. Usually fruit trees are fully reworked to a new variety, but this method retains some of the original type, if that was your intention. This is less dramatic than peacock grafting, as you dont have to chop half the tree off to force the graft growth. | About the Author jakfruit etiquette gotham city,3000,Vic 6th August 2020 10:22pm #UserID: 5133 Posts: 915 View All jakfruit etiquette's Edible Fruit Trees |
