Grapefruit and bees

    2 responses

First question - has anyone in South West Victoria tried to grow grapefruit, and, if so, what variety? (Any details of your experiences welcome)

Second question - can anyone give me an idea of how popular grapefruit is with bees? I know they like lemon, but I don't want to grow more lemons, so I'm looking at other citrus options.

THANKS!

A White grapefruit would be better than red.
The Wheeny is supposed to be better for cooler climates, if you can still find that variety. Honefs Surprise is a grapefruit like hybrid, but more orange flavoured.

My apologies if this is a duplicate. Thanks Jakfruit, I found that Daley's offers Honneff's Surprise, so I have ordered one. I'm thinking I'll try a lime as well, but not yet decided. I did order a Star Ruby, but that may have been too ambitious.
