Growing a fig tree up a wall!

    3 responses

Bill starts with ...
Readers might be interested in seeing how I have grown a fig tree up a wall. It is a Black Genoa that I bought two years ago from Daleys.

The page that I created to document this experiment is at:

Any suggestions from readers are welcome.

best wishes

A Carob might like that spot as an espalier/fan.
Daley's is in NSW.
Baxter's book might have espalier types.
What is the latitude and climate etc?
Will you plant cuttings?

That fan style of pruning looks like it might be the espalier fan method.
Or the two leader palmette style.
And maybe it's not the Bouche-Thomas hedge style.
Try to grow another fan fig in front of the window for summer shade and cooling.
And grow an espalier fan fruit up to the second storey.
