Grumichama

Hi All,
I've read a couple of the forum posts regarding fruting hedges.
I like the sound of the Grumichama and have two questions.

1) Can this be kept to a hedge around 1.5m? The description says it grows to 5m.

2) Will this grow in a Sydney Climate?

Regards,
Joseph

I had large grumichama bushes on the Sunshine coast. They need good soil and water to have enough leaves and be dense enough to be a hedge. They also seem to be quite slow growing. As far as trimming goes I am not sure because I have never pruned one to see how it recovers. I have one here on the Gold Coast (an area that gets rare very slight frost) and my bush does well. Although ALL the bushes I have had produced very few fruit. They seem to be pest free though.

Perhaps Coffee would be a better option? My small bush (80cm tall) is lush green and grows masses of beans.
