Guava fruit not sweet (forum)

I planted a Guava tree that I bought from Parklea markets. After 2 years, the plant produced four good sized fruits like the ones you buy in the market but they are not sweet. I am disappointed but was wondering if it is because the plant is just 2 years old or could it be that the Guava variety is not sweet. Any help will be appreciated.

That's odd, could be the variety or unripe fruit?

Most white and red Guavas require high heat and long season in order to ripen properly hence sweet. Otherwise, they taste like cardboard. You need the hothouse in Vic and may be most parts of NSW. Check your day and night temperature in your area. Cheers
