Kary Carambola bark splitting

Hi, I just noticed the bark on one of the branches splitting and was hoping if anyone could give me any advice on what the cause might be?

No insect damage. I thought it was dying six months ago. The tap root had grown through the bottom of the bag and I snapped it off when I moved it.

All the leaves fell off and nothing grew until February when I started getting new shoots. The splits appeared a month after that
