I have been researching KiwiFruit Growing and I have a question - Has anybody tried growing them in a really big Pot - I have the perfect spot to Lay out the trellis that is needed but it is above concreate but I was thinking that It is 1 stem (per Plant) coming from the ground until the top of the trellis so is there any reason I couldn't just use a really big pot ar a planter box - so as to utilise this otherwise unusable area - Suggestions/Comments anyone?

I would say it would be possible, but you need to make sure you repotted each winter when decidous with new potting mix. This could be awkward as kiwifruit are climbers and would not easily be moved. Maybe using a disposable planter bag say a 35 litre would allow you to repot more easily. Pruning of the vine would also be essential each winter, to compensate the repotting pruning of the roots

I have grown kiwi fruit in Sydney and I affectionately called them triffids - they grow very fast, 2 plants covered a pergola the size of a single carport in two years! Maybe a pot might keep them under control but you would need to keep plenty of water up to them in summer.
