denise1 says... I may have a couple of seeds spare in a month or two, I am in New Zealand. Are you allowed to import them?. It is a sweet silky variety (montalban) about 200g each. Will take 5 to 8 years to bear. They do not do well in tropical or warmer subtropical conditions. in which case the canistel should be grown instead. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 18th June 2013 7:59am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |

Linton says... Attention Denise..... Could you please advise if you may have a spare seed of Montalban or La Molina varieties. I think they are only available from New Zealand. Thanks. Also on this subject, I just bought a seed of a different type of Lucuma which looks just the same as the more common one. But when you shake it you can hear the kernel rattling around inside? Do you think I should plant the whole thing as is, or crack open the outer shell to make it easier for the kernel to germinate? Don't want to mess it up as I only have one seed. Also tried abrading the surface and when I put it in a glass of water it sank to the bottom immediately. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. | About the Author Linton NOBLE PARK,3174,VIC 24th June 2017 6:01pm #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |
