Mango tree problems (forum)

Deanna Jason starts with ...
My 25 year old mango tree was pruned back heavily a year ago. Since then it has not been thriving. It has produced new shoots on some branches but the possums eat all the new growth. Te bark is now splitting in patches. There is also a greyish fungal growth where the bark is splitting. Is my tree in danger? Do you have a remedy to keep the possums away?
