miracle bush (forum)

I live in Newcastle. My tree looked very healthy when it arrived. I planted it in a large half wine barrel: Positioned on the West side of the house. Leaves started curling and looking very sunburnt. Bought another recently from Daley's to see if it was meant to look like this. But theirs was lush and green. So 2 weeks ago replanted the older miracle bush into another pot under the front veranda; East side. Both plants are looking very happy and the older plant is now showing new growth :)

Hi Misty_Kat,
Firstly, did you use an acidic based potting mix? when you filled the half wine barrell? Something like the commercial Camellia/Azalea mix? Also, is this a young plant recently purchased from Daley's? I don't know if it was wise to plant such a small plant straight into such a large pot?

They normally do better in the shade.

Thankyou John for your input. I planted in azalea mix, coconut palm mulch, water crystals etc. Planted firstly in a green shopping bag size pot for 2 months, then transplanted to the wine barrrel. I seriously think it was too hot for it.
