Nectarine? advice...

    3 responses

Hoping someone can advise me... I had a fruit tree self-seed in my garden and left it. I am aware that most of the time these don't fruit, but I thought I'd leave it to see. I think it is a nectarine, as we don't really eat peaches. Do nectarines always have flowers in the first year, and do the flowers come out before the leaves?

It is a very vigorously growing tree, and has SHOT up in the last few weeks. If there's a chance it might fruit even in a year or two I will keep it, but otherwise I don't need it :(

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. So you think it just might not have flowered yet because it just grew this year?
