The are Olives Barnea in stock now.
Does anyone know if it is good for cool climate? We're in the Upper Mountains and it get's down to -5° and it is often misty. I would plant them on mounds surrounded by stones.
They were bred in Israel, which is certainly hotter than here.

As you say they grow a lot in Israel which is both hot and cold. They are an upright tree, almost columnar and i would think hard to harvest the fruit and keep the tree to a small size.I think the fruit is mainly for oil not table olives.Picholine(a french variety) would suit the blue mountains and is a good dual use variety.

Thanks! Embarrassingly, I thought of Israel as always hot. However, we have different humidity levels. We would mound them anyway.
The upright growth would suit us, because I would have to protect it from sheep, but I might grow this in pots until it reaches two meters or so.
In Greece they put sheets under their trees and shake them.
I want the really nice green oil but don't have a press, rest of family loves eating olives...
