Panama Red Passionfruit

Last year, 4 whole fruit. This year, been fed, potashed, watered, hundreds of flowers, yet NO FRUIT. as the flower closes up, the inside stamens go brown, have a wee bulby thing which would be fruit, then they just drop off the vine.
I have sprayed with light sugar/water solution to encourage bees, have bees around, although not seen on flowers. Not sure if lack of pollination, lack of water deep down(I do water it, big, healthy vine that it is). Or is it the soil? Have never had so much trouble growing a Panama Red ever. HELP ASAP please. Lynne

Have you tried hand pollinating? I don't get any (many) self set fruit - no bees about, and have been hand pollinating for 3 years and have had fantastic success this year! Have had 4 ripe fruit already and many more to come...... it stopped flowering a week or so ago. Melissa

Hi Melissa, thanks for your reply, and yes I have tried hand pollinating, but nothing happens. The vine is just so healthy and enormous, loaded with flowers. I do have bees in my yard, and have many plants in around the passionfruit to attract them as well. Another horticulturalist suggested that it fruits in March and not to worry, it has a season that it fruits. As I have tried everything else, I will wait til March and see if that is the answer. Many thanks for your suggestion though. Lynne, Crystal Light Bed.
