Pawpaw broadleaf small malformed leaves (forum)

Hello, I've got a Pawpaw Broad Leaf which I planted back in March, and at first it was doing great, but late winter it started getting new leaves coming through which stayed very small, and curled over, then they dropped off and more have come through even smaller (see pictures).
I waited so long to get this variety, I don't want to lose it.
When planting I used Active 8 http://www.rpmulching.com.au/growing-media/active-8) and I've added some composted cow manure a couple of weeks ago. I've also used some liquid seaweed periodically when watering.
Anyone know what is wrong? And what I can do to help it?

They are more sensitive to cold than most paw paws, especially the more pure bisex darl leaf stalked ones.It could be this or more likely a soil problem.Could be an excess of water or fertiliser or wrong pH.

Hmm, I'll try checking the pH.
Also looks like the pictures didn't show up for some reason, I'll try posting them again. Please excuse the mess, it's a building site. Owner builder so I'm not worried about workers being careless with my young trees.
I also have two young Black Sapote trees, one of which is looking great (at the back of the house), the other (newer one) isn't looking so good, it's on the other side of the house from this paw paw. I'm hoping that was a cold problem and it'll recover now it's warming up, since I know they're quite sensitive to cold.

That looks like a bisex broadleaf alright and cold rather than a soil problem is possible judging by the foliage. Apical meristem retardation is usually from fruit spotting bugs.
