pepino plant leaves (forum)

jackie starts with ...
please can someone tell me why the leaves on mine have gone yellow it has lots of fruit and is in a large pot but most of the bigger leaves have gone yellow

Hi Jackie, any pics? It could be whitefly, they seem to love pepino- if so the underside of the leaves should have little eggs and small white fly looking insects. Although without pictures I cant really say what it is accurately..

They are semi deciduous in cooler climates, they naturally shed the older leaves each year. Watch out for red spider mite (two spotted mite) if you have your plants in a glasshouse, they can also do a lot of damage to pepino leaves and cause extensive leaf drop. Either increase your humidity with misting regularly or use wettable sulphur to minimize any outbreaks.
