Persimmon

I have a Persimmon tree approximately 6 Years old and is in its second year of fruit. The first year all the fruit dropped about marble size. This year I have lost most of the fruit (approx 20) but still have 5 fruit developing. Is this a pollination problem, fruit spotting bug or just the tree offloading the fruit it can't handle?

Hi Jason,

It is very normal for some fruit to drop off. Please give the tree some potassium and water less to help fruit to stay on tree . I give my trees the same thing every year when fruit is about marble size. It is very successful with mine.

Good luck.

Thanx Tran, I have actually been watering the tree a little more than usual for the benefit of the fruit development. I will try that next year though.

Hi Jason,

You could give your tree some potash around flowering time because potash is the fertilizer to help promote flowers and fruit to grow stronger.
