Hi can anyone tell what this insect is and how do I protect my plant for them? They bit my young peaches, avocados and the tips of my frangipani plants.. Than Jenko

I think it is a variety of shield bug that sucks sap from tender parts of plants. They are a nuisance and sprays don't work too well unless applied point blank on the insect itself. Squashing them is said to deter others from the plant.
