Wampa starts with ...
Hi all, I am hoping someone may be able to help identify this plant. I know it is an edible as I remember planting the seed, but cannot for the life of me remember what it was. I am thinking it may be a guava, but just wanting other suggestions. It is in a pot for the moment until I know how it will grow. Thank you in advance

Thanks a lot, its a tough one as it could be either. The leaves do look very similar to a custard apple but not as broad. Will see if it flowers at some point then I can know for sure.

If its an American Pawpaw it should have lost its leaves even in NT - more likely its a custard apple or cherimoya but they have larger leaves too.
A seedling could take a bit longer to flower also.

Thanks all, am leaning towards it being a cherimoya. It has grown well and very quickly without any care so will see what it does.

The chances of you getting cherimoya fruit is nigh on impossible as not commercially available - must have been a Pinks Mammoth or African Pride.
Sometimes you see fruit in a box with plates Vs Bumps so you tend to wonder if they are a bit of a cross between the two above or possibly a cherimoya in among their groves? The only way to know is to grow your own -- just make sure you have wind protection where you are :)
