Hi! I am a Portuguese cultivator from a specific zone that has a very old tradition on oranges. But, this one in 1970's has a new bid dam and lost most farmers. Me and my family bougth a small farm there and we are introducing finger limes. So we value a lot the Australian experience.
Do you know that in many languages Portugal means Orange? Maybe due to the Portuguese introduction of oranges?

Hello José,
I am a home gardener in Melbourne, Australia. We have a mediterranean climate here with very hot dry summers and cool winters wetter and no snow. I am growing finger limes in a small pot, full sun in the greenhouse. It is now covered in small flowers. It was potted up with half cow manure and half general potting mix. It has just had a touch up with a general liquid fertilizer; this time I used "Charlie Carp". Not sure if you are in Portugal and if so if it is available there.
Perhaps this is of some help,
Sandy
