Potted bare root fig planting

    2 responses

hi guys,

I have bought a number of trees one of which is a fruiting fig. I want to put in a pot so roots don't grow out of control and push on the retaining wall.

Now I have read is not good to use soil rich in fertiliser as it burns the roots. Anyone recommend any commercial potting mixes? Or dirt compost ratios for planting in the pot. Surprisingly google is not my friend in finding an answer.

Cheers.

I've had good success using a mix of 30% premium potting mix with 50% washed sand and 20% cow manure.

You can get all this at bunnings.
