Propagate a magnolia - little gem

Hi all.
Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions on propagating a magnolia little gem.

At the moment we have two of these beautiful trees that are about 2 metres each and very very healthy. They recently flowered with large white flowers that are stunning, but sadly only last for a few days

At the moment, they have produced a seed pod and the little red seeds are exposed.

I would love to propagate these trees because we just love them and would like to plant more of them.

Any recommendations?

You could definitely grow them from seeds http://www.growingthehomegarden.com/2008/11/planting-magnolias-from-seed.html) or cuttings and possibly air layering :)

Thanks for the info.

It seems that I can propagate from cuttings of new green growth, by removing all but 2 leaves.

This guy has also had some luke witth seeds, but mentioned that the "little gem" variety may be sterile, so using the seeds might be a waste of time.

So I think that I will try both, and we will just have to see which works.

I will post pictures as soon as I can take them.

Thanks for the help.
