Red olive plum? (forum)

Wicked wench starts with ...
Hi we just bought a house and have these small fruits growing on a tree they are about 2 to 3 cm in length, after extensive research the closest thing I can find is red olive plums, can someone confirm this or tell me what they are. Are these edible ?
