Replacing camphor laurels with strangler figs (forum)

A good but long term solution of replacing mature camphor laurels with a native fig. Just grow one in a pot and place it in the fork of a camphor tree above the reach of livestock. It'll take about fifteen years to smother the host plant.

Damn! I don't have that long. But maybe I should do it anyway. Camphor laurels have no place on a suburban block - they are a menace. I have one almost on the border, so not mine.
