Soil type for fruit trees (forum)

Hi Everyone
I've read the post about mushroom compost and gained a lot of knowledge. My question is... I have a retaining wall in which I removed all the soil (it was primarily clay). So now there is about 600mm of nothing to which I want to plant various fruit trees.

I was intending to use mainly mushroom compost with some 5in1 mixed though (I did this in my heliconia garden bed and they went crazy).

So if mushroom compost is to be used as an additive, what should be the bulk material?

It will cost a arm and a leg to buy bagged soil. Figure out how many cubic meters you need and order organic soil from your local landscape yard. The organic soil will be a mixture of composted manure, bark and sand. It is a bit more dense than potting soil. If you are growing avos work 1/6 fill sand into it. It can be a little hot on delivery if the manure is not fully composted so it’s usually a good idea to let it mellow a week or two before planting.
