Strawberries

Etti starts with ...
I live in Pottsville, Far NSW Coast, I want to grow some strawberries, probably on a wall in pots, which facing wall should i use, is North facing too hot ??, also which variety is the easiest (toughest care) and when should you plant and when is the harvest season in Northern NSW. Help appreciated , many thanks

IMHO, there are some Qld developed vareites (daley has them for sale, though they are seasonal), which should be suitable. As long as the strawberries get enough water, they should cope. if you are worried, you can always add a shade cloth.

North facing is best because it gets heaps of sunlight but if you can add some shade to the west side to filter out western sun in the afternoon, it should be fine.
