I live in Eungella Queensland 4757 which is west of Mackay by an hour up on the mountain range. Temps from -1 in winter to 30+ mid summer. Sometimes many days of low cloud or fog. Can be quite damp for long periods. And do have long periods of very hot. Do you think I could grow one of your Sugar Maples up here. I do grow very well Liquid Ambers which can get some beautiful colours before dropping. And if so, can you mail to my daughters address in Mackay for pick up.

Hi Diana

Sugar maple is best grown from NSW to Tasmania in Australia. Unlike liquid Amber tree which can thrive in the warm temperate regions of OZ like QLD sugar maple might struggle. But nowadays you can grow low chill apples and peaches in the warm temperate regions so if you are really keen to have a sugar maple tree in your place why not. Who knows you might have just the proper micro climate to grow one.

As of this writing there are 20 sugar maple trees available here at Daley's. Just type in sugar maple in the search bar and they will come up. Just type the name and address of your daughter when ordering and they will send it to her on time.

Happy gardening :-)

I think they grow well south of Canada etc, but a type from more southern USA might do better in QLD.
