Hi Tipene

You can plant the tuber with roots and slips in the ground or in a pot straight away. Don't expose them to full sun promptly. Ease them out gradually until they harden up. Or you can plant them in their final position but cover them with shade for a few days until they acclimatise to their New home. Happy gardening 😎

If you are able to water them well in the ground, you may find planting them out with no roots on the one will be fine. Especially considering you have half a tuber there to feed it while it develops roots. You can actually take the last 3cm of the ends and eat everything in between! Its not too late to plant but if you are very frosty you may not get big tubers.
