Tree Grafting (forum)

Hi Team

I have purchased a golden penda which was grafted, the tree is growing but due to the angle of the graft it seems only the top is thickening making the tree top heavy, im concerned that this will not support its weight moving forwards.

Any tips should I regraft this or just let it grow?

The angle is not too unusual for budded fruit trees, but they eventually send more side branches so it balances the other side.
Can you encourage side branching to fill in the structure
Im wondering from the pic if there is exposed dead wood around the graft, the bark is damaged or lost ??

Ive had some pretty ordinary grafts not quite as bad as that which should go on the 2nds table as well as some odd double stemmed marcots of Longans also which I will eventually marcot and get 2 from it.
