Can anyone give me some advice on the root base of this tree? I need to know how far this tree should be planted from a house or pipes and also the average canopy width to decide how far to plant it from another tree?

It's very hard to find a street where there isn't one of these trees planted. Usually they line the streets of Brisbane suburbs. Take a look at these to see what they look like. They have strong roots, as you expect trees of that size to have, but not overly problematic, which is why the council uses them as a street tree. As for how far to plant from structures and pipes, I can't really help as I wouldn't plant one anyways...

I live in an area with tuckeroo tree's and around here they are all different shapes. In the open areas they are not too tall, maybe 4m, but have a nice spread of about the same size. Very nice and shady. Others that are mixed in with other trees are up to 7 - 8m with the 4m spread. Nice clean tree and nice to look at. The self sown seedlings that I dig out of the garden to pot up have a very long tap root. The root being many times longer than the above ground plant.
