AC1 says... Davids right There is only so much energy the trunk puts out.If you look closely at where both grafts radiate out from the main trunk the diameters of each of the 2 grafts are different. The bigger diameter one on the left,This is drawing more energy you need to control the left graft dont touch the right.I take a estimate or measure with a tape measure how long the thinner graft is from where it joins the main trunk to the tip of its branch then prune the graft on the left by cutting its tip down to the same length as the weaker one on the right. Keep pruning the left one and also reduce its mass to the length and mass as the one on the right even during summer that way you capture the energy flows during summer channeling the energy to the weak one to help it grow till you see the diameter increase at the base of the right graft where it joins main trunk .Once you reach balanced growth on all grafts prune both grafts evenly controlling length and mass.Good Luck. | About the Author AC1 HILTON,5033,SA 8th August 2018 1:52pm #UserID: 8055 Posts: 103 View All AC1's Edible Fruit Trees |
