Hi, I have a beautiful wax jambu of water roseapple, however over the last 2 seasons possums have eaten the tops of the tree and they don't seem to grow back. All the other part of the tree is growing but just not the tops. I need it to grow to help with the westerly sun. My question is; Will the tops ever re-grow?
We love wildlife and rescue bats in Brisbane so when we saw ringtailed possums in the tree we thought it was lovely but the tops just don't re shoot??? thank you in anticipation Andrea

How big is it? Maybe they keep munching the new growth coz its tastier when new.
Can you put up some poles and cover or put a plastic ring around trunk to stop critters climbing? Put up a pic?

The tree will get multiple tops now.
But this tree attracts a lot of pests and critters and the worst is the fruitfly who ruins the apples at a very small size.
