Found this fruit? growing on a small bush in backyard. Has anyone seen anything similar?

It's a cashew nut with the "apple" still attached. Don't touch or try to open the seed at the bottom as it will burn your skin in its raw state. Even roasting it indoors is dangerous. The red apple part is also edible with some preparation, but read some internet articles first for your own safety.

JUJUBE FOR SALE IN MELBOURNE says...
I used to eat the apple part with salt and chili then throw the seed to a fire in an open area and when the whole seed got blacken and cool. I used a hammer to get the nut out. Modern day you don't have to do it anymore, just buy nuts.

Before dry the nut, take only the nut part and cut with knife and can eat the seed. It is very tasty. can add the seeds in the curries also. You can pick the fruit later when it fully ripe.
