Kit starts with ... My white sapote has grown to about 8 feet tall in 12 months but has no horizontal growth...its like a pole with a few leaves on the very top. I got it at our local market so no real info to fall back on. Any ideas what is making this tree shoot for the moon ?? Should I cut it to make it reshoot as base is only about an inch wide...its a hilarious looking plant | About the Author Kit Queensland 19th February 2010 11:09pm #UserID: 2605 Posts: 12 View All Kit's Edible Fruit Trees |

HappyEarth says... Hi Kit, this is typical growth pattern of the white sapote. Cut in back as jujube suggests to 4 feet tall to keep the tree to a manageable height.
