Aurea produces a large elongated fruit of excellent quality. The fruit is delicious eaten fresh or with a little salt and lemon juice added. Canistels are often added to sweet custards or made into delicious eggnog-like milk shakes.

Dwarf Mandarin - Afourer

Recently imported Tangor, with rich, sweet juicy flavour. The tree is moderate in size and vigor. Thin, smooth, orange rind that is easy to peel. The fruit is low-seeded in the absence of cross-pollination, but seedy when cross-pollinated. Flying Dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen. Trees will grow to about half the normal citrus size. Flying Dragon rootstock also adds cold hardiness and grows well in heavier soils, like Trifoliatia rootstock.

This variety is subject to Plant Breeder Rights (PBR).The foliage is delicate on young trees, and our potted plants are known for their older leaves to turn yellow and drop during transport to conserve energy. The flesh can be sucked from the seed. It has notable nutritional benefits. The plant fixes nitrogen with the aid of symbiotic soil bacteria and is a good addition to food forest systems. It is originally from India. The native Millaa Millaa vine looks very similar with smaller fruits and overall size. Drought hardy.

Nice looking tree and fruit is fantastic in a smoothie!Dumps almost all leaves in spring and looks sickly, but explodes into life around 2 weeks later. Has flowered spring 2011 but still a bit too young to set fruit.
