I bought 2 years ago. 1 died and the other has just started flowering, but never gets fruit. I bought 2 more as I see they can be male and female.

I chose Carob for its drought tolerance and potential as a hardy green screen. They are slow growing and take a bit longer to become established but capable of surviving even the toughest drought. The delicious pods are a bonus and provide great high quality roughage for my goats

I had purchased and planted a cutting grown Sfax and thinking it needed protection I covered it with shade cloth. It never grew at all in the shade. These trees love hot blistering sun. Once I removed the shade cloth it put out new growth in two weeks!

I have a hermaphrodite 'Clifford' and a female SFax. Growing since 2007, fruiting after about 5 years. Clifford is edible, sometimes nice. SFax is nice to wonderful. I have a fair few fruit this year.

The thought of eating my own chocolate was overwhelming.... Had to put it in and see what happens. The tree is approaching 2 metres and is shooting nicely. Pretty fast growing to date.

1 male and 1 female. Had some beans but were attacked by a pest which I couldn't determine. Nice tree but very vigorous. Has grown through its pot and into the ground. No chance of getting it out and back into a pot. It is wind pollinated.

MALE CAROB : To ' Safet ' from Brisbane - Most carob seedlings are male?And they are the cheapest,at about $10. Or if there is not much space in the garden,then buy a hermaphrodite/bisexual eg 'Clifford'.
