Dwarf Lemon - Eureka (Grafted) 10/10Sandy's Edible FruitsUpdate: 1690 days 11hrs Comments: - Bought in Feb 2019 about 1 meter tall, planted in pot with citrus potting mix, topped with sugarcane mulch. Growing vigorously and putting out lots of new shoots. Cold hardy, tolerated Canberra winter (-10 C). Pruned once in Sep which stimulated more growth. Sustained hail damage in Mar 2020, knocked off its first yet-to-ripe fruit. Many leaves and branches were injured however she has continued to put out more fruit. Lemon - Meyer (Grafted) 9/10KitschWitch's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5235 days 2hrs Comments: - This tree is about two years old now and has been fruiting for the past 2 months--around 50 fruit altogether. During the first year I removed all of the flowers so the tree would put its energy into growth. There have already been more flowers so we should have another flush of fruit in a few months. The fruit are large, not as bitter as traditional lemons but great for most purposes. My children like to suck on them (but then they also suck on trad. lemons). The tree is very healthy, no discoloured leaves. We feed it with compost and it also gets a good share of urine during the warmer months! I might have put some trace element mix on it at some stage and would do so again. it is growing in front of a cream-painted north facing wall, which suits it well. I will try a traditional lemon soon to see if that also goes well in the frosty Canberra climate. Lemon - Eureka (Grafted) 10/10Oriente's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5581 days 13hrs Comments: - I got my Eurika tree as people told me it would not grow in cold climates. Guess what? It grew beautifully. It is now my biggest citrus tree and I prune it severely. I love the fruit. They remind me of the lemons in Europe. Lemon - Meyer (Grafted) 8/10Oriente's Edible FruitsUpdate: 5581 days 14hrs Comments: - The first citrus tree I bought when moving to my house. At first it did not go well as Meyer did not like the position. It looked terminally ill. I dug it out and replanted it in a different position (after having a look at where my neighbour's Lemon tree was). Now it's doing OK, still small but...alive and producing fruit. To be on the safe side I bought another Meyer which was planted in a pot. I do not care very much about the fruit at this stage since I am interested in the shape of the trees and I prune them all the time. Fruiting Months June, July, August Planted: 2004 Height 120 Centimetres Qty: 2 Fruit Harvest: 5 kilograms per Year First Fruited: 5 Months from Purchase in Pot Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Autumn, Winter, Spring After Fruiting, Summer, Autumn, Winter, SpringPollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: Chook poo, seaweed When I Fertilise: When Fruiting, Winter, Spring Pest Control: Winter oil in winter, pest oil in summer, Confidor when attacked by Orange bugs.
