The Misty is a true enigma, in that where it grows vigorously, such as on the red kraznozem soils of Northern NSW, it is very profitable and popular, yet on other soils it has often not grown well and is not a variety of popular choice. To produce high quality, early fruit, Misty is best grown under the evergreen system with attention being paid to nutrition and leaf diseases in order to keep the older leaves. It is an early fruiting variety, with light blue, medium to large fruit of excellent flavour.
Popularity: 1 Cherimoya - White
Cherimoya is a very heavy cropper of large fruit with juicy flesh that can be a little gritty just below the skin. The unique flavours suggests a hint of mango-papaya. A pleasure to eat due to its low seed count. A commercial favourite in California.

A prominently buttressed based tree with an open layered crown. Birds and marsupials are attracted to the bright blue fruits that have a thin covering of flesh surrounding a seed that resembles a ‘brain’. Ripen August to January. 35m

A handsome compact tree reaching 5-10m, with spectacular seed pod - fire engine red lining with deep black edible peanut flavoured nuts. The tree will ususally fruit within 2-3 years. Semi deciduous in the subtropical climates.
