Known for its olive-sized fruit which ripens in autumn. Traditionally used as a thirst quencher and snack. Widespread over the northern tropical woodlands. It also is used in the seafood industry to improve shelflife of prawns. Fruit also contains oxalic acid so consume in moderation.
