Imbil Fruit Trees (Popular)
Imbil Fruit Trees and the most popular plants Australians buy for mail order. With fruit trees you should consider climate suitability.
Dwarf Apple - Tropical Anna
$49.00 ($49.00-$79.00 choose a size)
Delicious crunchy apples similar to their cold climate cousins, Red Delicious, but only require a low amount of chill. On a semi dwarfing rootstock they are ideal for backyard plantings and container specimens. Anna will set some fruit on its own, an added bonus for small areas. Pollinate with Dorsett Golden or Tropic Sweet for greater fruit set. An apple best eaten fresh off the tree as they are not a storing apple.
Avocado - Fuerte (B)
$54.00 ($54.00-$79.00 choose a size)
Pear shaped fruit, small to medium in size with slightly rough, thin green skin. The flesh is of a buttery texture with excellent flavour. Vigorous spreading tree that bears biennially. Harvest April - June
Dwarf Apple - Tropic Sweet
$49.00 ($49.00-$79.00 choose a size)
A low chill, deliciously sweet and crunchy apple. Bears two weeks before Anna. On a semi dwarfing rootstock, ideal for backyard plantings and container specimens.
Kiwifruit - Male
$49.00 ($24.90-$49.00 choose a size)
Preferred Male Kiwifruit pollinator. A non-fruiting, all purpose male used as a pollinator for female vines. 1 male is suitable to pollinate up to 8 females. This male kiwifruit vine is also used as a pollinator for female Kiwiberry, Actinidia arguta, which is also know as Hardy Kiwifruit.
Dwarf Coconut Green
$79.00 ($79.00-$99.00 choose a size)
Moderate sized fruit with large volume-to-husk ratio. Reputedly the sweetest fruits for drinking. These high yielding precocious hybrid selections will grow outside of the tropics, in a warm and sheltered position. Worth trying in coastal locations as far south as Coffs Harbour. They will require free draining soil and are best planted deep with a deep organic mulch surrounding them. If you ever have to remove them, the heart is also edible and quite palatable.
