Neem tree - grafted

Often called the Wonder Tree, the neem has been used for centuries in Asia against insects and for some medicinal purposes. The natural insecticide azadirachtin can be extracted from the seeds of the neem tree. Grafting onto the White Cedar rootstock allows for a stronger root system in cooler regions and less problems with dieback in winter. Removal of any shoots from below the graft is essential maintenance to maintain your grafted neem. Weed warning: in Dry Tropics Neem tree regenerates easily and can be a weed problem. Not a problem in subtropical regions.

A cousin of the mangosteen, Achachas are tangy and refreshing with a delicate subtle sweetness, a fine balance between sweetness and acidity, producing an unusual taste sensation. Fruit should be picked mature as it does not ripen further on storage. Originating from the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin in South America, the Bolivian name of the fruit is Achachairu and translated means honey kiss. Achacha is protected by Plant Breeders Right (PBR) and cannot be grown or propagated without licence agreement with Achacha Fruit Group

Soursop

The fruit is heart-shaped with a rough green skin and soft fleshy spines. The fresh meaty flesh is juicy and slightly acid producing a rich creamy thirst quenching juice. Superb when fruit is pureed with 1/3 of vanilla ice-cream. Also known as Graviola or Guanaban. Not suitable for temperate climates. But it's more than just a sweet treat.

Soursop Mountain

Fruit has lemon coloured, smooth flesh. The fruit is rounder and skin smoother than true Soursop, with a pale green/yellow skin when ripe. Taste is not as good as true Soursop, but its hardiness makes it useful Will tolerate temperatures down to -2 degrees, dry conditions and a wide range of soils. Will grown in full sun or part shade. Trees can reach up to 8m and seedling trees often produce fruit after just 2-3 years. Could be useful as rootstock in colder region for a true Soursop. Also known as Wild Soursop, it grows across a large range in the moist tropics of South and Central America at altitudes of 2000m down to sea level. At Daleys we grow from seed and also produce grafted specimens from a mature tree.
