Mango - Alphonso

$59.00

Yellow skinned, medium size, only slight fibre, excellent quality. Sets well in subtropics. It is a favourite of India where it is the most desired of all the mangoes. So although not a huge mango the quality and taste is what makes it famous.

Noni Fruit

$49.00 ($24.00-$49.00 choose a size)

Medicinally this odd looking, pungent fruit is said to cure everything from stone-fish wounds to digestive upsets to far more serious disease. A concoction from the bark, leaves, roots and fruit can be drunk. When ripe or overripe the skin of the fruit becomes almost translucent and the flesh turns soft to develop an unpleasant odour. The odour has led to nickname of the 'starvation fruit' due to the fact that you would have to be starving to eat it as a fresh fruit. Strictly tropical climate only. Noni will flower and fruit from under one year old with care and the right micro climate. So worth trying in pots.

Lemon - Lisbon

$39.00

A good quality sour lemon with high juice and acid levels. The fruits of Eureka and Lisbon are very similar. Vigorous and productive, trees are very thorny particularly when young. The best variety for cooler climates.

Orange - Lanes Late

$39.00

Seedless variety, maturing later than all other navels, usually mid July through to October. Thin smooth rind. The fruits are similar to the Washington but they are picked a couple of months later in the season. They are therefore a great companion tree to plant with a Washington navel or a Navelina for an extended fruiting season of navel oranges.

Peanut Butter Tree

$19.75 ($19.75-$34.00 choose a size)

This attractive tree has clusters of yellow flowers that are followed by an abundance of dark red fruit to around 2.5cm long. The rich, sweet flesh has a texture similar to peanut butter. The fruit can be eaten fresh or made into milk shakes.

Pine Nut

$29.00 ($19.75-$99.00 choose a size)

An attractive large pine tree that bears cones of edible nuts. These are considered a delicacy in Mediterranean style cooking, due to their sweet, buttery flavour. Trees can be expected to start producing cones from about year 6. But can take longer. Each cone holds about 50 nuts and 100 kg of cones holds about 20 kg of nuts. Grows best in dry cooler areas with excellent drainage. Trees can set nuts on their own, but cones may be poorly filled. Plant two or more to improve nut set.

Fiddle-leaf Fig

My Fiddle-leaf is beloved. It's a huge tree which regularly throws projectile fruit. So do not put it where we put it. Propagators welcome.
