Macadamia - MiniMaca PBR

$54.00

This is a rare Macadamia with unique miniature features. It produces a medium size nut with a thin shell making it easy to crack. It has stunning pink new growth that will stand out in any garden or parkland. This is one for the collectors of Australian bushfoods and everyone that loves macadamias. The MiniMaca can be maintained as a hedge with regular pruning. Its growth habit is more columnar in shape than other varieties. It was discovered in northern NSW which is an area abundant in Macadamia production. Naturally an understory plant in rainforests. Macadamia trees grow best in Warm, frost free locations in free draining soil with lots of organic material and regular watering during the warmer months. This a Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) variety and propagation is strictly prohibited.

Pluot Plum - Black Adder

$49.00 ($49.00-$99.00 choose a size)

Graham Richards kindly gave us this low chill Pluot Plum to trial from his low chill breeding program. First fruiting this season, excellent flavour and texture. A Pluot is a cross between an Apricot and Plum- however more Plum characteristics are present. The Black Adder has Purplish- black skin with an amber flesh turning a deeper colour when very ripe. Pluots normally require cross pollination to set fruit. Try cross pollinating with another Pluot or a Japanese Plum variety- like a Mariposa. We are currently assesing its ability to self pollinate and will update our growing advice with those results. Ensure adequate sunlight, free draining fertile soil for maximum yields and healthy productive trees. Being low chill, it will produce fruit where winters are mild but may still not thrive in areas with hot summers. Protection may be beneficial.

Carambola Starfruit - Kembangan

$49.00 ($49.00-$79.00 choose a size)

This Star Fruit has bright yellow-orange fruit that is slightly elongated and pointed. The flesh is juicy and firm with few seeds. Flavour rich and sweet; excellent dessert quality. Carambola trees have an attractive weeping habit, producing a profusion of pink flowers. The foliage is delicate on young trees, and our potted plants are known for their older leaves to turn yellow and drop during transport to conserve energy. This is not a problem long term. With care and acclimatisation they will bounce back

Fig - Honey

$42.95

Sweet fig with honey/nectar like juice within. Honey figs have a soft texture and fruity flavour. Figs love a warm Mediterranean type climate but will also produce well in subtropical and temperate areas. Give them a sunny position and well drained soil, free from heavy frost, to harvest your own homegrown luscious figs

Apple - Gala

$39.00 ($39.00-$42.95 choose a size)

Is this the perfect apple? It has a stripey style, crunch, flavour and looks great in a lunchbox for young or old. Red skinned, aromatic, sweet fleshed apple. Pair it up with another apple for pollination and you'll have gala's galore. These work well with Gala - Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Red Delicious, Red Fuji.

Yellow Mangosteen

$34.00 ($24.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Yellow Mangosteen is a round fruit with very tart yellow segments. The high acidity makes it ideal for jams and jellies but removing the seed and skin can be time consuming. Easier to grow in the subtropics than the purple mangosteen, but the flavour is altogether different. The tree grows well in full sun and shade. It will tolerate and continue to fruit heavily in drought conditions. The tree is very attractive, with large drooping leaves and a layered form. The fruit can reach 8-10 cm in length and looks highly ornamental when in the tree.
