Mulberry - White Shahtoot

$54.00 ($29.00-$129.00 choose a size)

Large, sweet fruit can reach up to 10cm in length. Delicious eaten fresh but can also be sundried and eaten as a sweet. Medium sized, spreading tree with a weeping habit, excellent shade tree. Birds love them too so make sure you cover them if you don't want to share. You can also get multiple crops by pruning immediately after your first crop.

Carambola Starfruit - Kary

$59.00 ($59.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Excellent flavour, bright skin and juicy flesh with few seeds, bearing a summer and winter crop. It exhibits more cold tolerance than other varieties. Carambolas are also called Star Fruit Carambola trees have an attractive weeping habit, producing a profusion of pink flowers. The foliage is delicate on young trees, and our potted plants are known for their older leaves to turn yellow and drop during transport to conserve energy. This is not a problem long term. With care and acclimatisation they will bounce back

Pepper - Black

$29.00 ($29.00-$39.00 choose a size)

Cultivated for the fruit which is dried and used as a spice and seasoning. The fruits are dark red when fully ripe. Immature fruits can be picked as green pepper, black pepper is the fruit dried with the skin on and white pepper is the dried seed only. Black pepper is the worlds most widely traded spice.

Banana - Blue Java

$24.00 ($12.90-$49.00 choose a size)

A fast growing, cold tolerant variety of banana also called Ice Cream banana as the flavour and consistency is reminiscent of creamy vanilla ice cream or custard. Grows to a height of at least 3m and sometimes up to 5 in tropical areas.

Cinnamon Tree

$39.00 ($27.00-$49.00 choose a size)

Highly ornamental tree and the source of cinnamon spice. The beautiful red new growth is highly distinctive. The spice itself is the inner bark that is peeled from the branches after 2 years. Scrape the outer bark, then peel the inner bark, leave for a day so that the inner bark curls into cinnamon sticks as it dries. They are distinctive in the many layered quill they produce that, when crushed, will shard rather than snap. Cinnamon is a very elegant and useful aromatic, much kinder to the palate than other spices. It imparts a distinctively sweet flavour when used. The leaves themselves are higher in clove oil than cinnamaldehyde, the active component of the sweet aromatic scent of cinnamon. Weed Warning: Can be invasive in tropical areas

Jujube - Sugar Cane

$109.00 ($109.00-$119.00 choose a size)

Early season harvest of small to medium, round to elongated fruit. Extremely sweet fruit with crisp texute, and good resistance to splitting. The tree is very vigorous, but unfortunately it can be thorny. Jujubes are well suited to the hot dry conditions of inland Australia

NARRACAN, VIC

Purple Sugar Cane

Love this plant. I chose this plant because eventually I wanted a wind break for my banana plants. Also for nostalgia reasons. It reminds me of holidaying through Queensland as a kid. When I got the sugar cane I left it in It's pot for 2 weeks inside to let it settle and acclimatise then re potted it into a bigger pot. I have kept it inside next to a south facing window under grow lights to see it through winter. After the last frost I will move it outdoors under my veranda. See how it grows.

MT WAVERLEY, VIC, Australia

I love sugar cane juice and chewing on the stalk. This plant needs a lot of water and fertiliser for large stalks. Grows happily in Melbourne.
