cacao (chocolate)... can it be grafted?

Clint starts with ...
I was wondering as cacao is of the sterculiacae family whether it could be grafted to the native sterculia quadrifida (peanut tree) to survive in cooler climates?

Do not think different rootstock would help this tropical plant survive frosts.
It is in Malvaceae , Sterculia is now reclassified .
