Drumstick tree issues (forum)

I recently bought a drumstick tree from you guys (about 6+ months back I think?) It seems to me that every time the weather gets chilly or there is a frost, the leaves then all fall off. The leaves come back until the next lot of chilly weather and then they fall off again. Not sure if this is a silly question - are these trees sensitive to this kind of weather and does this mean it is never going to grow? Any suggestions apart from sticking it in a green house (which I dont have or want).

I would be keeping it away from cold weather, remember it's a tropical plant.
Have you tried putting it an a sheltered spot with maybe a shade cloth
or plastic surround to create a micro climate?

Hi David,
My potted drumstick tree goes to the same growing process like yours..It grows vertically (upward) & not bushy...In winter i stick mine in an unheated mini gh...Now it's sitting outside under the eaves facing north where it gets plenty of sunshine & heat from the brick wall.
