Sorry mate about the slow reply, I live in Victoria and the dwarf bananas supposedly only grow to around 2 or 3 metres.

My bananas grow just fine out in the back yard here in Melbourne. So if they're not supposed to, don't tell them because clearly they're not aware of that...lol. As an aside...I have a spare dwarf Red Dacca languishing in a pot if anyone would like it. You'd need to pick it up as it's too big to post. yep! i've seen bananas grow & fruit in melbourne but i doubt if the taste will be as good as those grown in tropical state...Check an old thread about bananas (can't recall the title),this bloke from melton was able to get his bananas to fruit...I hope my bananas will get thru this unpredictable sept cold snap...How's your bananas goin?

I've fruited Lady finger here, pretty small and crapy bunch but they were edible:!) and I wasn't the first in town to fruit them. Dwarf Ducasse should fruit this year and *should* be better. Melbourne is 3c warmer and much much easier for banana's
