Fertilizer question - Sulphate of potash (forum)
3 responses
Db starts with ...
I ran out of powder form Sulphate of potash that I bought from Bunnings. But Bunnings doesn't sell it anymore. I tried 3 Bunnings in last 4 months nearby my area.. All have granular form but they stopped selling powder form. Most of my trees are heavily mulched with lucerne mulch which has become compact so I prefer water soluble fertilizers. Applying granular fert means I need to remove that compact mulch and then apply fert in ground and put mulch back which seems to be hassle... Those who are using lucerne mulch, how does you guys fertilize your trees?
Anyway, where can I buy sulphate of potash in powder form which is water soluble?

I never buy sulphate of potash from bunnings, it's about 4 times the the price than from grow force/crt-local bloke.
It used to come in 40kg bag, now it's 25kg, I think I paid about $30. (I think at bunnings it was $45 for 10kg!)
Don't worry about powder vs granular Db, I throw it on top of the mulch. It gradually makes it way through :-) BTW, you can buy liquid potash these days.

Thanks a lot Brendan, I'll probably go with granular then and just spread it on the top of mulch. I saw liq potash in Bunnings but I think that's only 20% potash as compared to 41% in granular or powder and the liq one I saw in Bunnings was very small bottle.
